Hi my name is Ria and I’m mom of two, living in the city of Chicago. I’ve been a midwestener now for nearly a decade and am originally from Los Angeles, CA. I decided to move to Chicago in 2008 and planned to stay a year or two. Plans changed, as they always do, and somehow I convinced my entire family (mom, dad and little sister) to leave sunny California to join me in Chicago.
I’d consider myself a Midwestern lifer now because I met my husband a few years ago and we plan to raise our daughter and son here in the city for as long as we can.
When I’m not momming, I’m an educator that does college access work for Chicago Public Schools. I have a passion for helping first-generation students get to and through college.
I hope you’ll continue to follow my ohana’s adventures in the city both here on my blog and on Instagram @urbanohana
